MEET HARRY
HI, KEY WEST!
Harry Russell is running for City Commissioner of District 5, bringing a lifelong connection to the community and more than 30 years of hands-on experience in education, leadership, and public service.
A proud resident of Key West for over five decades, Harry has built a distinguished career with the Monroe County School District, serving as a teacher, Principal, and now as Executive Director of Human Capital and Labor Relations. In this role, he oversees multimillion-dollar budgets, leads key district initiatives, and helps shape long-term policy. In 2020, he was honored as Principal of the Year, and he holds advanced degrees in Leadership and Administration, along with a certificate in Labor Relations from Cornell University.
Outside the school district, Harry serves as Vice Chair of the Key West Parks and Recreation Board, is a graduate of the Key West Ambassadors Class 41, and a charter member of the Sunset Rotary Club, where he helped establish the Bobby Menendez Scholarship at Key West High School.

Understanding the importance of our unique ecosystem, Harry advocates for sustainable tourism practices, waste reduction initiatives, and conservation efforts. His goal is to safeguard our natural resources, ensuring they remain vibrant for generations to come.
Infrastructure Improvement
Harry is committed to the maintenance and enhancement of essential infrastructure, including roads, public buildings, and recreational facilities. By prioritizing projects that boost safety and accessibility, he seeks to elevate the quality of life for all residents of District V.
